Pouring with PURPOSE

Each season, the Apothenne Los Angeles team will be devoting our candle creativity to purposeful philanthropy. We are selecting nonprofits and causes that speak to us on the most heartfelt level — missions that move us — organizations and people that are creating meaningful change in this world.

Here’s how we do it...

CO-CREATE

Members of our team will work with the founders and visionaries behind the nonprofit organization to create a candle that helps deliver their message by inspiring the senses. The custom aesthetic and scent of these candles will align with the organization's vision and vibe, creating a functional art form for the greater good. The candle will then be sold and promoted on our platforms, as well as theirs, to bring awareness and funds to the cause.

INVOLVE THE COMMUNITY

Together, we will create this candle! A group of friends, volunteers and supporters will gather to bring this vision to life. Together, we will lovingly hand-pour the inventory for the nonprofit's candles to be used in fundraising efforts, as well as promote, ship, and sell on their behalf, all season long.

Interested in volunteering?

We would love to have you join us! Please email info@apothenne.com for details on how you can be of service. Our next Pouring with Purpose event will be in March and we are looking for volunteers to assist with a number of roles within this exciting sector of our company.

Fight2Breathe (@Fight2Breathe)

Our first Pouring with Purpose nonprofit organization was Fight2Breathe. Their mission is to provide a fully transparent view into life with cystic fibrosis, chronic illness, genetic disease and organ transplantation, to fund innovative research, and to support those impacted by the fight. Their vision: A world where CF only exists in the history books. The funds raised from this event will go towards Fight2Breathe care packages supporting individuals with long hospital stays, the featured fighter program for uplifting members of our community, and other initiatives they plan to kick off in 2019.

The Event

To kick off this incredible new sector of our business, we launched our first event on our founder Jacqueline’s BIRTHDAY in December! It was an evening of love, libations and creation as we celebrated the spotlighted organization! Everyone had an opportunity to pour/create two candles: One was theirs to take home and enjoy, and the other was used as inventory for the nonprofit as a means to fundraise. We created and sold over 125 candles! We want to thank everyone who volunteered, purchased and shared the message. We are looking forward to our next event —making the world a little brighter.
